Our Spirit Adventure Walks

Adventure Walks in the Spirit of Our Diggers

The young men of the Australian Defence Forces who battle to save our nation and who are affectionately referred to as "Our Diggers" are also known for their mateship, courage, sacrifice and endurance which is unsurpassed and ever present.  These four attributes create the monument that marks the famous and unquestionably the most important battlesite in Australian history at Isurava in Papua New Guinea.

Our Spirit's diggers adventure walks follow in the footsteps of those brave men and women who helped shape Australia and have provided us with the freedoms we enjoy in our lives today.

Kokoda Trek

It's more than an adventure walk, it's an experience you'll never forget!  Our Spirit leads you across this 96 kilometre track that still bears its battle scars in the shape of scattered ammunition, guns, helmets and stirring campfire stories.  It's an opportunity to pay tribute to the soldiers who died there, and to celebrate the renowned Aussie spirit.  more...

Black Cat Trek

This is one of the most challenging treks in the world.  Rated more difficult than the Kokoda Track, this WW2 adventure walk offers everything an extreme challenge should.  It has steep climbs, river crossings, cliffs and other very tricky terrain.  It also includes huge amounts of historical reminders and a close look at the fantastic local people, their tradtions and the Papua New Guinean culture.  more...

Adventures in the Spirit of Indigenous Australians

Indigenous people have occupied Australia for at least 60 000 years and have evolved with the land - changing it and changing with it.  The land was not just soil or rocks or minerals, but a whole environment that sustains and is sustained by people and culture.  For Indigenous Australians the land is the core of all spirituality and this relationship has been deeply misunderstood over the past 200 years or so.

Our Spirit's Indigenous adventure walks strive to bridge the gap in communication and understanding that exists between European born and Indigenous Australians.

Adventures in the Spirit of Our Pioneers

Over 2 hundred years ago our pioneering forefathers performed the very first adventure walks, with little more than sheer determination, will and an amazing adventurous SPIRIT. They began the task of exploring and settling a brave new world.

Our pioneers gathered their families and challenged by a hostile environment and unforgiving climate they managed to forge a life out of nothing.  They braved starvation and a lack of medical or community support to create many of the towns that exist today in Australia.

Our Spirit's pioneering adventure walks embrace the courgageous spirit of the men and women who dared to explore and discover the true beauty of the Australian wilderness.
