Pre-Adventure Preparation
- Online fitness assessment
- Online individualised exercise and nutrition training program - specific to the Tassie Challenge (designed by our team of qualified exercise physiologists)
- Individual and group training support, advice and motivation via email and podcasts
- Access to participant guide and maps, preparation tips and equipment advice on member pages
Adventure Inclusions
- National Parks & Wildlife Service permits
- Kayak hire included. Mountain bike hire available upon request.
- Group equipment:
- Tents; cooking equipment; emergency bike tool kit and pump; safety equipment; communication equipment (including satellite phone and UHF radios); etc
- eXtreme Cuisine (TM) daily food packs including nutritionally balanced energy appropriate meals and snacks as well as water supplies
- Our Spirit provides local fruit and vegetables to supplement evening trek meals as well as daily food packs. Here's an example of our food pack includions: breakfast cereals, muesli bars, cheese and biscuits, fish, tortillas, noodles, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a few treats to keep you motivated.
- New sleeping bag and mat
- New personal eating utensils - bowl, cup, knife, fork and spoon
Support Crew
- Have first aid certification or higher
- Drive support vehicles
- Transport group supplies and all participant luggage
- Assist teams with:
- course directions and rules
- safe passage (eg. ensuring participants are appropriately hydrated)
- hygiene direction (eg. where to dispose of waste)
- meal preparation
- Set up campsites
Adventure Leaders
- Deliver an experiential journey based on mateship, endurance and organisational leadership skills
- communication, conflict management, emotional intelligence, collaborative teams, cross cultural management
- Provide individual motivation and encouragement
- Create opportunities for team cohesion
- Recognise and reward individual and team achievements on completion
Supplied/provided by participant (at own expense):
- Pre trek preparation - a doctor’s clearance to verify that the participant is physically fit to complete the adventure (a copy of the certificate is not required by Our Spirit)
- Basic personal first-aid kit (detailed in participant guide)
- Personal expenses in Hobart
- Excess Baggage (limit of 20kg allowed)
- Mountain bike (available for hire upon request)
- Appropriate cycling, trekking and kayaking gear (supplier contacts and group discounts currently under negotiation)
IMPORTANT:
Our Spirit Pty Ltd holds current public liability insurance and maintains comprehensive risk management procedures for all our adventures as part of our standard business practice.
It is recommended that each person joining the party be physically prepared by the time of departure. An exercise program, including training cycles and nutritional advice are included in the program.
